Moe.: Kyle’s Song

Moe. is a jam band that was formed at the University of Buffalo in 1989, according to Wikipedia. Judging from the comments at YouTube–participants discuss playlists in great detail–the band has a dedicated following. Here is more from the entry:

During an interview, guitarist Al Schnier was asked to describe Moe for those who have never heard their music: “It’s an amalgamation of a wide variety of the history of rock, all regurgitated and recycled through the eyes, ears, hands, whatever of the guys in our band and all of that with a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, also a constant desire to push the envelope. All in this arena of taking chances, improvising live, and making things up on the spot.”[2]

Here are Billy GoatBuster and Bring You Down. The Internet Archive has a lot more Moe. music. The band’s site is at Moe.org.

Twelve minutes of moe. Few things are more Americana than jam bands. I’ve heard their fans are called moe.-rons.

It’s actually confusing. They prefice everything with moe., so if you are not careful you get another band or Moe Howard (could do worse). THey are very talented guys.
