The Los Angeles-based post-grunge seven-piece Flogging Molly are an interesting mix of traditional Irish music and spunky punk rock.
“Spunky,” I’m sure, is an adjective that often comes up in discussions of punk rock bands. In fact, I’d like to see a punk rock band that isn’t spunky.
In any case, the clip above features a great song, and the video might even be better.
Here are Drunken Lullabies, Float and Seven Deadly Sins. The band dedicated the album “Within a Mile of Home” to Johnny Cash (and Clash drummer Joe Strummer). Here is a version of Folsom Prison Blues done as only a spunky post punk Irish band could.
