Neil Young: Fork in the Road

Fork in the Road almost certainly is unique among videos made by superstars. If you haven’t seen it, check it out.

I’m not sure what the back story is of Young’s walk-on (at 3:20) during Pearl Jam’s performance of Rockin in the Free World in Toronto on Sept. 11 of last year. Eddie Vedder seems stunned, and he and the rest of the band clearly are overjoyed. The performance is tremendous. I believe this video was edited together from those shot on phones at the show. Though the sound isn’t too good, it’s a great idea.

Here are Get Back to the Country and Prairie Wind. Oh Susannah — which is performed over a great video — is the first release from Americana, the new album from Neil Young & Crazy Horse. The band is on a leisurely tour.
